The past few days have seen Leeds United linked with a move for Bodo/Glimt manager Kjetil Knutsen.

The Norwegian side take on Tottenham Hotspur in the semi-finals of the Europa League this evening, and it could to be one of the biggest games in Knutsen’s managerial career.

Ahead of the clash against Ange Postecoglou’s side, the 56-year-old spoke to DagBladet about his future and was directly asked about the rumours linking him with a move to Leeds United and other clubs, and whether he would be auditioning in the semi-final.

He said: No, not at all. I really want the players to reach their potential. I’m so old that that potential will soon reach its peak.”

Knutsen stated that he is living in the present and isn’t thinking too much about what will come later.

“I think you have to live in the present. If you want to be good, you have to be good today. Thinking about what lies far ahead, then you lose the most important thing.”

The Norwegian insists a move to Leeds United or elsewhere isn’t occupying his mind yet and he is focused on the semi-final against Spurs.

This doesn’t mean that a potential move to Elland Road is out of the question, especially considering that the Whites will be in the Premier League next season and how much Knutsen has impressed at Bodo/Glimt.

Leeds United would have to make sure that their vision to build for the future aligns with that of Knutsen, who has managed his current club for over five years while making them play a certain way.

Regardless of any of that, it remains Daniel Farke’s job and many hope it will stay that way.
