Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele is set to be called into France’s squad today for their upcoming international games ahead of Euro 2021.

That’s according to L’Equipe, who say the Tottenham man has a ‘real card to play’ and a significant chance to stake his claim for this summer’s tournament.

It’s explained that France boss Didier Deschamps is set to pick another extensive squad for this month’s international games, preferring to take a look at all his options and not really take risks.

He has a big choice to make in midfield in particular, with Corentin Tolisso out with a long-term injury and Steven Nzonzi ‘not really exciting’ with Rennes.

That is where Ndombele comes in.

He has ‘returned to a good level’ with Tottenham this season, taking Jose Mourinho’s criticism on board and working hard to establish himself in the first-team.

He now looks far more like the player they paid big money to sign from Lyon and, as such, has a ‘real card to play’ in this month’s games.

In other words, he has a real chance of making an impression on Deschamps ahead of this tournament and returning to the France squad for the first time in ‘more than a year and a half’, with his last display coming against Andorra in June 2019.
