Wrexham are interested in a move for Guingamp midfielder Kalidou Sidibé this month, despite his contract expiring at the end of the season.

That’s according to Foot Mercato. They report that Wrexham are ‘particularly interested’ in the 26-year-old this month.

According to their information, the Welsh side are keen to strengthen in the January transfer window and Sidibé is on their list. He currently plays for Guingamp, where his contract is due to expire in June.

A move is therefore being considered this month to ensure that the French side don’t lose him on a free transfer.  Wrexham could offer them the opportunity to make money as they look to continue spending under Ryan Reynolds.

They’ve already spent just under €38m this season for life in the Championship. It’s been effective so far as they sit ninth in the table. They’re currently three points outside the top four and only four behind third placed Ipswich.

It appears they are now keen to add in the January window and Sidibé is on their list. They face competition, though, with Oxford United and KS Cracovia also in the running for the midfielder.
