Some days ago, the UK press revealed Wrexham’s interest in Pisa star Idrissa Toure.
There was belief the Welsh club would soon make a £6m approach, amidst expectation that they will be very busy on deadline day.
No confirmations have arrived on that but the Italian press has now picked it up.
Sesta Porta Pisa look at Wrexham’s interest in Toure. They add their information to what was reported initially.
There is confidence that the Red Dragons have already made an offer for the versatile wing-back.
Despite the ambitious approach, Wrexham’s efforts to sign the German have failed so far. Pisa have rejected the bid, deeming it too low to sell the 27-year-old.
The report claims the offer was made ‘in the final days’ of the transfer window. There is a clear timeline presented but they seem to be ahead of the information reported elsewhere.
There is no indication of how much Wrexham offered either. Toure’s current deal at Pisa runs until 2027, so the club either have to start of a renewal or a sale soon.
The former Germany U19s man has played 21 times in Serie A this season, featuring for over 1700 minutes.
Pisa are 19th in Serie A and wouldn’t want to lose a key player late in the winter window.
