Cardiff City signed goalkeeper Nathan Trott from FC Copenhagen on a season-long loan deal in August. The Danish club have confirmed the Bluebirds have secured a purchase option.
Trott has six clean sheets and conceded 11 goals from 13 matches so far for the League One side.
Last season, he started as first-choice stopper at Copenhagen and was demoted to the bench in the second half of the season. Earlier this week, he told Tipsbladet of his desire to prove himself at Cardiff City.

Trott’s contract at Copenhagen lasts until 2028 but his desire is to continue with the Welsh club beyond this season. He remains hopeful Cardiff City will make his stay permanent if they get promoted to the Championship.
Brian Barry-Murphy’s side are currently leading the League One table with 22 points, a point ahead of second placed Stevenage FC, who have a game in hand.
“You never know how things will turn out, but if we get promoted, there’s a possibility I could be bought, and if everything continues as it is, it would make sense for me to continue in the environment where I have developed so much. But we’ll have to see what happens, and I’m not really focused on that right now,” he said.
In the event Cardiff City decide against extending the stopper’s stay, he doesn’t want to return to Copenhagen. That’s because of the fracture in his relationship with their coach, Jacob Neestrup.
