At the weekend, Luka Vušković stated he’s confident that he should be at Tottenham Hotspur next season.
In September 2023, Tottenham reached an agreement with Hajduk Split for the defender to arrive at the north London club in the summer of 2025, after he turns 18.
Hajduk Split sent him on loan to Radomiak Radom in January 2024 before sanctioning a new loan move to KVC Westerlo last summer.
Patrick Goots, who previously represented KRC Genk, Royal Antwerp and other clubs during his playing career, claims the 18-year-old shouldn’t be at Tottenham next season.
He talked about the centre-back for Gazet van Antwerpen and Voetbal Krant have relayed his comments.
The incoming Spurs player has impressed for the Belgian club this season and contributed eight goals [seven goals and an assist] from 25 games.
As it stands, the Croatia U21 international will be moving to the Premier League club in the summer. Goots is of the belief he should extend his stay in Belgium instead of moving to Tottenham.
“Vušković is very all round, only the pure pace he lacks a bit, and there is a good head. He will also realise it is too early for a return [move] to Tottenham,” he said.
According to the former striker, Vušković should go on loan to Royal Antwerp next season.
“I think he’s in any case a very interesting profile for Antwerp, where Toby Alderweireld and Zeno Van den Bosch will disappear from the heart of the defence after this season. Competing for prizes, and who knows, maybe playing European, would be an ideal intermediate step,” Goots explained.
