Aston Villa are currently without a win in seven matches across all competitions and registered their last win against Bologna, more than a month ago.
Unai Emery’s side failed to end their run against Juventus as the Champions League tie at Villa Park ended in a goalless draw.
Thursday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport has given a 6/10 rating to both Aston Villa and the Old Lady.
The Italian newspaper have rated players individually and were critical about Boubacar Kamara’s performance. They say he was the ‘Il Peggiore’, which means ‘The Worst’ Aston Villa player against Juve.
The 25-year-old received the lowest rating of 5.5/10 for his performance. The same rating was also given to Jhon Durán, but he came off the bench in the 78th minute.
Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez received 6.5/10 and named the ‘best’ Villans player against the Serie A side. Youri Tielemans, John McGinn and Morgan Rogers also received the same rating.
Defenders Matty Cash, Diego Carlos, Pau Torres and Lucas Digne all received 6/10. Leon Bailey, Ollie Watkins and Ross Barkley were also awarded 6/10.
Corriere dello Sport say Bailey was ‘The Worst’ Aston Villa player and give him a rating of 5.5/10.
When describing his performance, they state: ‘Part midfielder, part attacking midfielder, he rises from the centre right to launch the first pressing: a lot of movement and sacrifice in the defensive phase but he is unable to find the winning solution.’
Torres, Digne, Tielemans and Rogers also received 5.5/10, while the goalkeeper got the highest at 7/10. The rest of the Aston Villa starting XI were rated 6/10.
