Sometimes transfers show early signs of not being worth the hassle and Arsenal midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga’s loan to Sevilla this year may be one of them.

That’s at least if the latest information from Vamos Mi Sevilla is anything to go by, with them explaining the midfielder is set to miss the start of the season with an injury.

They explain that Sevilla’s recent seasons have been ‘almost a drama’ thanks to injuries to various players in the squad, who have suffered injury after injury and barely made it to the pitch.

The hope is that Lokonga is not another such player, but matters have not started well as he’s arrived from Arsenal this summer injured.

He recently missed the pre-season friendly with Al-Ittihad with a ‘discomfort’ and now Sevilla have made it public that he is suffering from a ‘mild myotendinous injury’ in his hamstrings.

That will see the midfielder miss the start of the La Liga season as he’ll be out for about a month. The hope is that it will be one of few, but the reality is that injuries have become ‘quite common’ for the Arsenal man.

In fact, Sevilla fans have been ‘investigating’ and discovered that he was out for 69 days last season with a thigh injury, missing 10 games with Luton, where he was on loan.

That’s clearly raised eyebrows and led to some fears that the Arsenal man could join the ‘drama’ of injuries that have frustrated the Spanish side in recent years.
