Tottenham’s dithering over the move for Genoa defender Radu Dragusin could end up costing them as the player ‘says yes’ to a move to Napoli.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who say the Serie A champions are pushing to get him and potentially steal him from under Tottenham’s noses.
They explain how Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis ‘made a mea culpa’ a week ago for what’s happened at Napoli this season and promised signings to rectify the situation.
He’s already working on that front and today the name at the top of his list if Dragusin, who appears destined to leave Genoa at some point.
The idea forming now, albeit slowly, is that he and defender Leo Østigård could be included in a deal to get Dragusin. Talks are at an initial stage, but the idea is there, nonetheless.
They are being spurred on by the player himself, though, who already ‘says yes’ to the idea and whose agent recently insisted “you can never say no to Napoli”.
That was seen as the ‘first official approval’ from him and his team and while much more is needed before he ends up at Napoli, it seems a deal is there to be done.
That should act as a warning sign to Tottenham, who have been pushing to sign Dragusin too but, according to CM, ‘have not yet made a move’ to get it over the line despite the player long dreaming of playing in the Premier League.
They’d be wise to change that now with Napoli in the picture and the pieces there for them to the deal themselves.
