Everton’s attempted signing of Ishak Belfodil still hasn’t been made official, and there’s a certain worry in Belgium that it might never happen.
DH report the player is expected to report to training on Tuesday afternoon, having been given permission to miss the morning session, returning from Paris after a two-day break granted by Standard Liège.
Everton are said to definitely want the player, but the meddling of intermediaries is holding the dossier up, which has allowed another team to declare their interest for the Algerian striker, even if no offer has been made as of yet.
Belfodil, who was in the French capital with family, took some time to think about his situation, as his decision is key in all of this, with Standard not wanting to stand in his way if the right offer is made.
The player is yet to talk or give a hint regarding his choice, taking part in a friendly last week as if nothing was going on, and the big question in Belgium now is whether or not he will take part in the next league game against Club Brugge on Sunday.
If his transfer to Goodison Park hasn’t been confirmed, will he be in the right frame of mind to perform at his best?
Time is on everyone’s side, with two weeks left in the transfer window, but the closer we get to the 31st of January, the more panic will set in, and things could go awfully wrong for both Everton and Standard Liège.
