West Ham United midfielder Guido Rodríguez has gained fresh traction in Brazil. Local outlets now confirming concrete interest from Grêmio and adding important context to his situation in England, following earlier coverage in the UK.
Both Globo Esporte and Zero Hora report that Grêmio have already sought information and registered interest in the 31-year-old. Internally, the club see the deal as complex.
Rodríguez still has strong market value and attracts attention from different regions. Even so, Grêmio have not ruled out progress and believe talks could still develop.
In Brazil, outlets state that the Premier League club are unlikely to block an exit. That stance links directly to his limited role this season. A natural holding midfielder, Rodríguez has failed to secure regular minutes since arriving in England.
Zero Hora add that Rodríguez is open to leaving West Ham due to the lack of opportunities. He joined the club as a free agent in August 2024 but later lost prominence and dropped out of recent Argentina squads.
His priority now is regular football, which could help him return to the plans of national team coach Lionel Scaloni ahead of the upcoming World Cup.
Two West Ham midfielders could move to Brazil
The wider Brazilian picture also matters. Palmeiras, who previously monitored Rodríguez and placed him on stand-by, are currently focused on other objectives, such as Thiago Almada. That shift has opened space for Grêmio to step in and explore the opportunity.
For now, West Ham remain at the centre of the scenario. With a short contract, reduced involvement and renewed interest from Brazil, Rodríguez’s next move remains open, as clubs assess whether conditions can align in the coming weeks.
Guido Rodríguez could be one of two West Ham midfielders moving to Brazil this month. Lucas Paquetá is pushing for a move to Flamengo, seemingly forgetting how the Hammers stood by him.
