French newspaper L’Equipe continues to bring some updates on Wolverhampton Wanderers’ pursuit of Hugo Ekitiké.
The same source had already claimed Wolves made an approach for a loan with an option to buy, then pointing out that Jorge Mendes could be key if the deal is to happen.
The problem was said to be competition from Wolfsburg, and that’s what today’s story is about.
L’Equipe now writes that the Bundesliga side made their first offer to sign Ekitiké. That’s for a paid loan, with no option to buy.
Paris Saint Germain are said to be discussing it at the same time as they’re speaking to Wolves, while Eintracht Frankfurt also joined the competition.
It’s said Wolves are now trying to convince Ekitiké, who’s set to have many options on his table.
This saga shouldn’t drag for long, though, with L’Equipe claiming that the next few days should be decisive, especially with PSG trying to sort the situation out quickly.
The striker was only used by the French side once this season, with eight minutes on the pitch, and is desperate for more playing time.
