Wolverhampton Wanderers will be allowed to sign Club Racing midfielder Carlos Alcaraz, if they make a suitable bid for him.
That’s according to the midfielder himself, who says the Argentine club will accept good bids for his services if they arrive.
Alcaraz has been in fine form for Racing over the last year, with nine goals and two assists in 42 games in all competitions in the 2021/22 season.
Like many Argentinian youngsters he has quickly found himself linked with a move to Europe, with Wolves among those linked in a report by Marca in May.
The newspaper explained that Wolves were one of several clubs keeping a close eye on the 19-year-old’s development, even sending scouts to watch the player in action.
That same report made it clear that while Racing would prefer not to lose the player, they would be willing to accept around $20m, around £16.4m, to let him go.
Whether Wolves will ever make such an offer remains to be seen but the player has revealed anything deemed suitable will be accepted by Racing.
“I already fulfilled the dream of being champion with Racing, now my dream is to win the Copa Libertadores with this club. Now I want to win something international,” Doble Amarilla report him saying.
“If Racing come in January and bring me an offer that suits them, they will sell me. If they tell me to stay and play in the Libertadores, I’ll stay.
“I’m very well here and I’m committed to Racing and to what is good for the club.”
