Botafogo and Wolverhampton Wanderers are in talks for the transfer of Fernando Marçal, according to claims from Brazil.

A couple of outlets have been talking about the interest for the past few days, and now, the talks between the clubs are said to be progressing.

Goal Brasil journalist Marcelo Hazan is one of those who claims Botafogo and Wolves are currently ‘negotiating’, and the move is possibly happening this summer.

Meanwhile, Thiago Franklin comes up to say the talks are moving forward well and there’s the expectation for a deal, with the player indeed joining the Rio de Janeiro side in July.

Marçal, who joined Wolves in a move from Lyon in 2020, began this season as a starter at the Molineux side, then lost his place and is now having chances here and there, with 17 appearances so far.

Botafogo, recently bought by Crystal Palace owner John Textor, have an ambitious project for the coming years, and Marçal is one of the many names on their wish list.
