Wolverhampton Wanderers remain in the picture for Lens defender Kevin Danso, who wouldn’t mind a move to England.

That’s according to Ouest France, who report that Wolves are still an option for the 26-year-old defender this month.

The newspaper explains that Rennes are currently pushing to sign the defender, but it is a ‘complex case’ with no easy solution on the horizon.

Active discussions are taking place between the two French sides and Rennes are believed to have made an offer worth €22m.

However, Ouest France report that Danso had initially wanted to move abroad this month, especially to England, and Wolves are still ‘trying to bring him in’. They, unlike Rennes, can offer him a big salary.

Lens, for their part, are open to negotiating and want €25m for their man. No club has offered that yet, but it is not a great leap from the €22m already put on the table by Rennes.

Whether Wolves would offer such an amount isn’t made clear, but a report yesterday stated that they had made an offer worth €22m plus €3m in bonuses. It also stated this had been refused by Lens as they looked for more. The suggestion then, is that they want €25m guaranteed.

Either way, Vitor Pereira’s side are in the mix and interested in taking Danso to Molineux before the end of the transfer window.
