Since Mexico manager Tata Martino included Raul Jimenez’s name in the pre-list for Concacaf’s Nations League semifinals, the local media has been pretty excited about the chance of having the striker back in the national team.

The coach confirmed this week that the striker could be involved in Wolverhampton Wanderers’ final fixtures in the Premier League, as it now all depends on the club’s medical staff.

We get more claims from the Mexican press today, this time from Record, where it’s said that Jimenez is going through a ‘special test’ at Wolves next week.

It’s said that proof will determine if the Wolverhampton striker is ready or not to play football ‘with no restrictions’ again, with the medical staff having the chance to finally give him the ‘green light’ to be back on the pitch.

That approval is the only possibility for Tata Martino to be able to keep Jimenez in Mexico’s squad for the Nations League, and even though the Molineux star had previously been called up just to be in the squad earlier this year, this time he’s only joining the national team in case he can be really used as a player, rather than a glorified mascot.
