Wolverhampton Wanderers new signing Jorgen Strand Larsen has admitted he can’t wait to take on international teammate Erling Haaland in the Premier League, with the move a dream one for him.
The striker has been speaking to Radio Marca’s Marcador programme, relayed by Estadio Deportivo, after joining Wolves on loan from Celta Vigo earlier this summer.
The 24-year-old has joined Gary O’Neil’s side on loan until the end of the season, with it expected to be made permanent next year,
He arrives at Molineux after an excellent season in La Liga last year that saw him bag 13 goals and three assists in 37 games and earn plenty of admirers.
The hope is that he can fill something of a hole in the current Wolves squad, with them having lacking a natural centre forward, with the likes of Matheus Cunha and Hee chan-Hwang filling in last season but not seen as long-term options.
Whether Larsen can hit the ground running remains to be seen but he is keen to get going and already has a friendly competition lined up with international teammate Erling Haaland, who has topped the goalscoring charts for the last two seasons.
“Celta will be my home all my life. But I am 24 years old and going to the Premier is a dream,” he said.
“Fighting to stay with Celta this last season has helped me a lot mentally, it has made me stronger. I have already joked a lot with Haaland. I have told him to see if I score more goals. We are very good friends and I already want to face him.
“I dream of scoring many goals here at Wolves. I’m 24 years old and I know the best is yet to come.”
