When Tuttomercatoweb have an article starting ‘UFFICIALE’ it generally means a deal has been confirmed by a club. There’s really no other use for it, because a transfer or renewal can’t be official until it’s, well, official.

So when we earlier saw their story ‘UFFICIALE: Wolverhampton, Afobe is redeemed’ we assumed it had been announced.

Afobe is currently on loan from Premier League club Bournemouth, and Wolves are expected to try and keep him around longer.

But neither club have announced the move is now permanent, so this is all slightly curious.

TMW explain that Afobe’s loan to Wolves from Bournemouth had a clause which meant Premier League promotion saw it become permanent automatically. Such clauses aren’t unusual but they have a way of leaking out.

Here we have an Italian source claiming to know that a London born footballer has officially permanently moved from one English club to another.

It’s possible they know something, but with them claiming it’s official, perhaps it’s some strange mistake.
