With Raul Jimenez currently injured, Wolverhampton Wanderers need a new striker.

That was made clear when reports emerged of their attempt to sign Andrea Belotti on a free, but it appears Wolves have since moved on.

Their latest target, according to journalist Ignazio Genuardi, is Strasbourg’s towering striker Ludovic Ajorque.

The 28-year-old has been a key member of the Ligue 1 side for a number of years now, and picked up 12 goals and eight assists in 36 league appearances last season.

In fact, Genuardi claims Ajorque has been ‘the subject of an offer’ from Wolves, who put ‘close to €12m’ on the table.

Strasbourg, however, ‘refused’ said bid, clearly wanting more for their star striker.

We’ll now have to wait and see what happens, as Wolves could either come back with an improved offer or try their luck elsewhere.

As things stand, Bruno Lage’s side have Hwang Hee-chan, Patrick Cutrone and Leo Bonatini to choose from up front while Jimenez recovers.
