Sportime reporter Giannis Chorianopoulos has claimed Wolverhampton Wanderers are still favourites to sign Olympiacos’ goalkeeper Jose Sa.
Last week there were reports in the Greek media that the Premier League side were showing an interest in Sa, due to the uncertainty over the future of Rui Patricio at Molineux.
Recent reports coming out of the Portuguese press have linked the former Porto man with a move to Spanish champions Atletico Madrid, but Chorianopoulos insists Wolves are still in the driving seat to land Sa.
The Greek journalist says Sa’s potential move to Wolves will only happen if their current No.1 Rui Patricio joins Jose Mourinho’s Roma this summer.
Olympiacos will start their preparations for next season on Wednesday and it’s expected Sa will join up with them after he was left out of Portugal’s squad for Euro 2020.
The 28-year-old has impressed since joining Olympiacos on a permanent deal in 2019 after an initial loan spell from Porto. Sa kept 19 clean sheets for Erythrolefki last season across all competitions, is and under contract with the club until June 2023.
