On December 12th, Sabah reported Beşiktaş have identified Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Emmanuel Agbadou as their first-choice centre-back target for the winter market.
They also stated the 28-year-old has responded positively to the Turkish club’s interest.
A week later, Fotomaç stated Beşiktaş have opened talks with Wolves over a move for the defender. It wasn’t specified whether they are looking at a permanent transfer or a loan move in January.
The Istanbul club have stepped up their efforts in their pursuit of the defender. That’s according to a fresh report from Sabah.
It’s claimed Beşiktaş have already made an offer for the Ivory Coast international. The report states the proposal includes a loan deal with an option to buy, without mentioning the fee for the purchase option.
That may not matter because Wolves have rejected Beşiktaş’ offer for Agbadou. Sabah explain the English club would only consider letting him leave through a sale.
Agbadou has a contract lasting until 2029 and is currently valued at €18m by Transfermarkt.
The Turkish club aren’t willing to meet Wolves’ demand and have now shifted their focus to AS Monaco’s Thilo Kehrer.
The Ivorian, who is currently at AFCON, has played 16 matches for Wolves this season.
