Earlier today, we covered claims from France which explained Wolverhampton Wanderers have made a big offer for Stade de Reims’ Marshall Munetsi.
There were no mention of the figure proposed by Wolves. It was said the fee is around the same [€20m] as they offered by buy Emmanuel Agbadou from the French club earlier in the winter market.
Wolves have been in negotiations with Stade de Reims over a move for Munetsi and have now made firm progress.
That’s at least what RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins is reporting, and he took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share the latest.
He claims Wolves have ‘reached an agreement in principle’ with the Ligue 1 club to sign the Zimbabwe international for a fee of around €20m.
Despite the agreement between the two clubs, Hawkins states Stade de Reims first want to secure a replacement before sanctioning the midfielder’s transfer. They don’t have a lot of time as the window in France [as in England] will close later today.
Hawkins makes no mention of whether the 28-year-old is willing to join Vítor Pereira’s side on deadline day, although the assumption would be he is.
