Wolverhampton Wanderers have identified Girona’s Ladislav Krejčí as a target to improve their defence and made progress to secure his services this summer.
Three days ago, we covered claims from Spain that the centre-back has agreed personal terms with Wolves.
On Friday, Marca and Mundo Deportivo reported that Wolves have finalised an agreement with the La Liga club for €30m. The Catalan newspaper even questioned whether he’ll be involved when Girona face Villarreal later today.
Sunday’s edition of Diari de Girona, a newspaper local to the Spanish club, reports Wolves have made an offer for the 26-year-old. They add he’s ‘about to leave’ Girona and make a switch to Molineux.
Another Spanish newspaper, AS, also backs up the offer from Vítor Pereira’s side. They explain there’s an agreement between the Catalan club and Wolves for the Czech Republic international’s sale for €30m.
Although earlier claims reported of the player agreeing personal terms with Wolves, AS say the ‘situation is more crazy’ now. That’s because Krejčí is ‘hesitant’ over joining the English club, without the report giving any explanation.
Therefore, Girona manager Míchel has included him in the squad to face Villarreal and AS indicate he could even start today.
Krejčí’s sale to Wolves will boost Girona’s finances, which is needed to register some players and carry out signings. With the player now hesitant, he has to be convinced so that this transfer goes through.
