Despite goals in cameos against Everton and Gillingham FC, Rayan Aït-Nouri’s position at Wolverhampton Wanderers doesn’t appear to be changing.
The left-back only managed to feature for 18 minutes against Manchester United after his strong impacts off the bench, and his road to a starting role has been blocked by Hugo Bueno.
That’s why there has been talk of Aït-Nouri potentially leaving Wolves, with clubs such as OGC Nice reportedly taking an interest in the player.
This particular story hasn’t gone any further since Boxing Day, but the idea of an exit from Molineux remains, as L’Equipe, in an article relaying the information that the defender has chosen to represent Algeria at international level, mention his club situation.
They write that the 21-year-old could ‘change air’ during the current transfer window, due to not being used very often by Julen Lopetegui.
His entourage have ‘opened the door to an exit’, with Sevilla, now managed by Jorge Sampaoli, ‘notably interested’ in the Wolves player.
His agent is Jorge Mendes, who also happens to be Lopetegui’s, but that hasn’t forced the new manager to play him ahead of Bueno.
