Wolves’ Sasa Kalajdzic has had a difficult few seasons in the game, having picked up as many as three ACL injuries since 2019, derailing the Austrian’s progress.
His most recent ACL injury came during his loan stint Eintracht Frankfurt last season and he’s continuing his recovery from the latest setback.
Still at Wolves, the striker will return to action this season and in a chat with Kronen Zeitung, the Austrian has revealed that his recovery is going quite well and he is hoping to feature for the English side by January.
He also stated that he has Zoom sessions with his surgeon and there are no complications.
“I’m doing great, I’m pain-free. The rehab is going without complications.
“My surgeon looked at the knee via Zoom, he is very happy with how it went. I’m doing exercises with my eyes closed to improve my balance. I also play tennis against the wall, swim against a current in the pool. It’s important that I don’t think about how I move.”
He went on to speak about his return to the game, saying: “The club is planning with me in January, but if I can play a game this year, that would be great!”
The interview also saw Kalajdzic speak in detail about the Austrian national team, who he has featured for 19 times in his career but his last appearance came back in 2023.
His last game for Wolves came back in September 2023 and he was then loaned to Eintracht Frankfurt, where he played until February 2024 before the ACL injury struck him down again.
