The Portuguese media today shares good news about Wolverhampton Wanderers loanee Gonçalo Guedes.
As reported by newspaper A Bola, the 26-year-old, who went through a knee surgery, could be available to play for Benfica this month.
The operation took place on the 12th of March and the recovery was foreseen for six weeks. The outlet writes everything is going according to plan, and he could be back on the pitch in the second half of April.
That’s great news for Benfica, because Guedes had been helpful since arriving on loan from Wolves in January, and there was fear he could be ruled out of the season with this injury.
His comeback to the Eagles could even represent a better opportunity for a potential permanent deal, since Benficawill have more of a taste of how much he can bring to the team.
A Bola writes that Benfica indeed want to keep the player ‘for longer’.
But there is now news about the negotiations for a purchase for now, as the club is a lot more focused on having him back on the pitch, and only then should start speaking to Wolves about a new deal.
