Towards the end of the January window, Wolverhampton Wanderers let Adama Traoré join Barcelona on a loan deal until the end of the season, and the latter retain an option to make his stay at the Camp Nou permanent.
The winger has featured twice for the La Liga side so far and registered an assist in both ties, against Atlético Madrid and Espanyol.
In the derby clash, the Wolves owned man assisted Luuk de Jong’s late equaliser, helping Barca avoid a defeat.
Analysing his performances, Sport on Monday state the Spain international was a cause of concern for the opposition fullback. They say the 26-year-old ‘continued to be comfortable’ at the weekend, after impressing against Atlético.
Traoré ‘put everything on his back’ as far as Barca’s attack were concerned and was also the reason for Espanyol’s ‘constant annoyance’. The newspaper also points out how he helped the defenders on the right side.
Sport state: ‘When Espanyol turned around Pedri’s goal, Xavi moved the whole team and Adama went on to play as a pure winger, taking care of practically the entire right wing, both in defence and attack.’
Despite annoying the opposition, the newspaper explains Barca weren’t lethal up front and couldn’t take advantage of Traoré’s qualities on the right wing.
Traoré has impressed the Catalan club in his first two matches and should he continue to shine, he can make it an easy decision for Barca to buy him from Wolves in the summer.
