Since Wolverhampton Wanderers asked Raul Jimenez to return to the club, we’ve been seeing the Mexican media say the national team are pretty anxious to have him with their international squad.
El Tri are currently gathering their players in Girona, and that’s where they’ll prepare for the World Cup. For now, only footballers from Liga MX have joined them, as those from European Leagues must wait until the break.
As journalist David Medrano features a piece on his Record column today, it’s claimed that Raul Jimenez himself is negotiating with Wolves to get him released to the national team before FIFA’s deadline.
However, since the Molineux side currently fight against relegation, they’re still considering to use him in the match against Arsenal on the 12th of November, even if for a few minutes.
That means Mexico manager Tata Martino would have ‘very little’ time to check on Jimenez before the World Cup.
Still, if he does play for Wolves, that’s considered to be ‘good news’ regarding his physical state.
According to Juan Carlos Zuniga on Twitter, the national team already sent Wolverhampton a request for the striker to travel to Girona.
The club, however, are still to respond.
