After having two loans spells in the lower division, Wolverhampton Wanderers allowed Rafa Mir to join SD Huesca last summer.

The striker has done well in La Liga this season, scoring 10 goals in 29 matches and has three more goals to his name in the cup competition.

Mir has ‘revalued’ following his impressive displays for the Spanish club, and his fine performances have attracted attention from Sevilla.

According to La Razón, the Wolves owned frontman has now become a ‘new option’ for Sevilla to strengthen their strike force and they will try to sign him after this season.

Huesca have an option to make the 23-year-old’s stay permanent for €12m, but the report states ‘everything seems to indicate’ he will return to his parent club after this campaign.

Sevilla would like to ‘take advantage’ of this to sign the Spaniard. Mir has a desire to continue in La Liga and Nuno Espírito Santo’s side ‘intend to make cash’ by selling him in the next market, taking advantage of the fact his valuation has now improved.

Julen Lopetegui’s side are considering selling Luuk de Jong and also have plans to renew Youssef En-Nesyri’s contract. The Moroccan will continue to be linked elsewhere until he signs an extension.

In the event if one of these two players leaving Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium in the next window, the door would open for Mir to arrive at Sevilla.
