Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Tolu Arokodare has revealed how he teases Aston Villa midfielder Amadou Onana when they meet on the pitch.
Het Belang van Limburg have comments from the Wolves striker today. He’s busy celebrating after he and his side beat Aston Villa 2-0 over the weekend, despite a dislike of the weather.
Arokodare was on the bench for the game but came on as a substitute in the second half. That provided him with another opportunity to come up against Onana.

The Wolves striker has a strong link to Belgium in general thanks to his years playing in the country. That’s seen him maintain a relationship with some of the Belgian contingent currently at Villa Park.
Onana is chief among them, and Arokodare admits he can’t help teasing him when they meet on the pitch.
“André! (Amadou Onana) That’s what I always call him, jokingly,” he said.
“After the Man United goalkeeper. We have a good relationship. During the first leg, we clashed, a real clash, luckily, we didn’t suffer any consequences.”
Belgium hopes
While there’s some gentle teasing on the pitch, Arokodare is still wishing luck to Belgium at the World Cup this summer.
He spent two years and seven months in the country, playing for them from January 2023 to September 2025. The 2024/25 season was his most successful to date, bagging 21 league goals to win the Golden Boot. He also won the Ebony Shoe as the best African player in the country.
That, clearly, is a time he remembers fondly and he’s hoping for success for the Aston Villa midfielder as a result. That’s despite their current rivalry.
“My years at KRC Genk have given me a bit of Belgian blood, so I hope they’ll do well,” he added.
“I also have a lot of friends at the Red Devils: Zeno (Debast), Maarten (Vandevoordt), Openda, Onana… Hopefully, Bryan (Heynen) and Matte (Smets) will also make the World Cup squad.”

💬 “The weather in Wolverhampton is really not normal anymore. It rains constantly, I swear. Yesterday was the first day of the year that the sun shone. The first day, you know!”https://t.co/kdmwdgqNL9 #wwfc #wolvesfc
