Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to beat Nottingham Forest in the race to sign Hellas Verona’s Jackson Tchatchoua this summer.
Last month, claims from Italy stated Nottingham Forest saw their €10m bid get rejected. Since then, Nuno Espírito Santo’s side have been chasing the right-back.
Four days ago, L’Arena reported this week could be crucial in Nottingham Forest’s pursuit of the 23-year-old. Wolves have made advances and are said to have won the race.
That’s according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who state Vítor Pereira’s side have beat competition from Nottingham Forest to sign Tchatchoua.
It’s claimed Wolves have offered €12m for the Cameroon international and Hellas Verona have accepted it. Tchatchoua, who can also operate as a wing back and a right midfielder, said yes to the English club.
TWM report Tchatchoua will sign a five-year contract worth €2m per year including bonuses. This is a significant rise, considering he’s been earning €350,000 net per year at the Serie A club.
Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report on Wolves’ advances.
He claims the agreement is worth €12.5m [TMW reported €12m] and there’s ‘green light [from] Verona’ to exchange documents on Friday, after which Tchatchoua will undergo medical with Wolves.
Nottingham Forest would be disappointed to be missing out on the versatile player to their Premier League counterpart.
