On January 23rd, Soccernews.nl stated Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Fábio Silva would ‘almost certainly’ be joining PSV Eindhoven on Monday.

It was also explained that the striker, who had been currently on loan at Anderlecht from Wolves, could make his debut for the Eredivisie side against FC Emmen later today.

Silva has not yet completed a loan move to PSV, but the talks with Wolves are progressing in the right direction. This was confirmed by the Dutch club’s manager, Ruud van Nistelrooy.

“PSV, Wolverhampton and Anderlecht are busy completing the transfer. I think that will work and that he can be in the selection on Saturday. Emmen is still too early,” De Telegraaf quoted Van Nistelrooy as saying.

Eindhovens Dagblad journalist Rik Elfrink took to Twitter to state the fact that PSV cannot rely upon the Portugal U21 international for the clash against Emmen today has nothing to do with the player.

The Wolves owned striker has already ‘cleared’ his medical tests with the Eindhoven club and is ‘eager to help’ his new team. Elfrink adds Julen Lopetegui’s side and Anderlecht ‘still have to wrap things up’ for the deal to take shape.

Wolves and the Jupiler Pro League side need to find an agreement to cut short Silva’s loan deal and this is needed for the player to join PSV on loan this month.
