Fabio Silva’s exit from Wolves seems to be gathering pace – one way or another.
Genoa have been touted as a potential suitor and yesterday, Real Betis were also linked with a move for the Portuguese attacker, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Rangers.
The Rossoblu haven’t quite given up on their move for the 22-year-old yet and that is what the latest from Sportmediaset.
They confirm that Genoa’s ‘initial offer’ for Silva was sent back by Wolves but that isn’t deterring Alberto Gilardino’s side in their approach.
Even though they have signed Andrea Pinamonti as a potential replacement for Albert Gudmundsson, Genoa still want another option upfront and Silva is probably that.
The striker is ‘always in the sights’ of the club and the report states that a ‘new attempt’ is set to be made.
La Repubblica yesterday got a little ahead of themselves, as it was suggested that a move was close for the ex-Porto youngster. That Italian optimism soon slipped away.
There is still work to be done and Genoa now face serious competition.
