Wolverhampton Wanderers have been active in the transfer market and have signed Raúl Jiménez and Kieran Trippier as free agents.
Saša Kalajdžić has also returned to Molineux after a loan spell at LASK. This means new manager César Peixoto has six players for the No.9 position and a few are most likely to leave this summer.
Two months ago, Sport Witness relayed news of Schalke’s interest in Kalajdžić. His contract is until 2027, but the Austrian could stay at Wolves next season because of lack of concrete options.
At the same time, Wolves lack a right winger while Enso González is the only recognised left winger.
Wolves have to improve attack
The Championship side are likely to strengthen their wide positions and have identified Olympiacos’ André Luiz as a target.
That’s according to Sportime in Greece, who cover Wolves’ efforts to bring the right winger to England.
The Brazilian first moved to Europe when Estrela da Amadora signed him on loan from Flamengo in 2023 and made his stay permanent a year later.
Estrela da Amadora then sold him to Rio Ave in January 2025, and he managed seven goals and six assists from 20 matches last season. This caught the Greek club’s attention, who signed him in the winter market.
The 24-year-old has played 379 minutes in 10 matches for the Greek club, managing one assist.
Earlier this month, Olympiacos received a €16m bid from an unnamed club. There was a belief César Peixoto’s side would have made this proposal, but that’s not the case.
However, Wolves are still keen on Luiz, so much so that they have made an approach by submitting a €14m bid.
Wolves need to improve offer
Olympiacos, led by their owner Evangelos Marinakis, believe Wolves’ offer doesn’t reflect the attacker’s value.
The South American’s contract lasts until 2030, and Transfermarkt value him at €7m.
Wolves have to improve their offer to convince Olympiacos, and it’s unclear whether they plan to do that.
