Takvim report Fenerbahce midfielder Josef de Souza is being tracked by newly promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Brazilian has been linked with a move to West Bromwich Albion over the past ten months.

The Turkish media outlet say Wolves officials have contacted Fenerbahce over the potential purchase of the 29 year old, who has impressed for the Turkish club this season.

It’s reported the Fenerbahce board haven’t given a direct answer to Wolves due to the presidential election which will take place on the 3rd of June, but they are willing to meet after this. Wolves are willing to offer €12m for the player, according to the claims.

Souza came very close to signing for West Brom last summer, but the Englsih club instead decided to bring in PSG midfielder Gregorz Krychowiak on loan.

Last month West Brom were again linked with Souza, but with the Baggies relegated to the Championship it’s unlikely the South American would sign for them.

The central midfielder has 12 months left on his contract with Fenerbahce.

It’s possible there’s something in this. Turkey’s media won’t be aware of the rivalry between Wolves and West Brom so have no interest in building a story for that purpose.
