Back in October 2021, Wolverhampton Wanderers were first linked to Guilherme Arana.

That information came from the Spanish media, who mistook him for a right-back, and said Wolves were one of the clubs in the race for his signing. That was a very isolated story, not followed by any reports from Brazil.

Now it turns out that the Molineux side are back being linked to the 25-year-old, this time in a couple of stories from the player’s home country.

It all started with a tweet from Fred Augusto, who said Atletico Mineiro are expecting an offer from the Premier League for Arana this summer. It was said the bid for the left-back, who’s part of the national team squad, should be around €19m.

Then journalist Jorge Nicola went after more information on this case and learned that Wolves are one of the clubs who recently made approaches to the player’s staff.

It’s said there are no offers or signs of bids yet. But the interest was shown, and Bruno Lage’s side are now aware of the conditions for a potential deal.

Arana, who already had experience in Europe when playing for Sevilla, has been excelling in Brazilian football for a couple of years now, and a return to the top leagues seems inevitable.
