Gazzetta dello Sport again pull Wolves into the Joao Mario situation on Monday.
The Italian newspaper claims Nuno Espirito Santo’s men are one of four Premier League clubs on the trail of the Portuguese international. Inter Milan’s big plan of sending the player to England this summer in exchange for a big transfer fee is starting to look very shaky indeed.
There’s only 10 days remaining of the transfer window for Premier League clubs and there’s been no concrete offers for the former Sporting player so far.
This, explain Gazzetta, means those in charge of transfers at Inter could ‘finally be satisfied with a loan’ because at least it would allow them to pass the player’s wages on to someone else, and also free up room in the squad.
With it repeatedly seeming that Inter have tried to push the footballer to Wolves via Jorge Mendes, the Italian club may have more joy if they propose a loan without any obligation to buy.
Joao Mario is more flexible than Joao Moutinho, who Wolves recently signed from AS Monaco, and could play wide if needed, so it would all depend on what holes Nuno still sees in his squad for next season.
