Wolverhampton Wanderers have their eyes set on Ísak Bergmann Jóhannesson, if reports coming out of Sweden are to be believed.

The 18-year-old moved to Swedish side IFK Norrköping from Icelandic club Íþróttabandalag Akraness in 2019.

Last season, the teenager operated as a central midfielder, while he was also used on either wing. He managed four goals and registered 12 assists in 31 matches in all competitions.

According to Expressen, via Aftonbladet, the youngster may be on his way to the Premier League, and in particular, to Wolves.

It’s claimed scouts from Germany, Italy and England have followed the versatile player, who is predicted to have a bright future ahead of him.

Expressen state a ‘deal maybe imminent’, and then mention Wolves. It’s stated Nuno Espírito Santo’s side are ‘very interested’ in attracting the Iceland international in the summer.

Norrköping, for their part, are looking to cash in from Ísak Bergmann Jóhannesson’s sale to help them make new signings. His price is quoted between €5m and €6.5m.

Ísak Bergmann Jóhannesson was born in England when his father, Joey Guðjónsson, was at Aston Villa in 2003. He also had a season-long loan stay at Wolves during the 2003/04 season.

Considering he was born in the United Kingdom, the report adds the Brexit rules will not be make it complicated for Wolves to sign the young talent.
