It appears that Yerson Mosquera is on the verge of leaving Wolverhampton Wanderers in January, as Villarreal are working hard to get him signed.
This comes from Pipe Sierra in Colombia, who took to X, formerly Twitter, on Monday to reveal the latest on the young centre-back.
The 22-year-old has yet to feature for Wolves this season under Gary O’Neil, and it appears that the La Liga side are ready to give him the playing time he wants to continue his development.
Sierra states that Wolves and Villarreal will meet today, meaning Monday, to ‘finalise the signing’ of the defender, and the desire from Molineux is to send him there on loan for the next six months ‘without a purchase option’.
This clearly shows that O’Neil and his staff still have a lot of faith in Mosquera, but just don’t believe he’s quite ready to have the desired impact in the Premier League just yet.
As for Villarreal, they want the player to ‘arrive this week’, likely so that they can get him settled in quickly and use him sooner rather than later.
