Yesterday, Wolves were one of the clubs linked with a move for Lazio striker Taty Castellanos.

West Ham and Nottingham Forest were also mentioned as credible candidates for the Argentine, but it now seems as if Vitor Pereira’s side are the most advanced in their chase for Castellanos.

Tuttomercatoweb have reported that this could be part of a domino effect which will start with Manchester United’s move for Wolves star Matheus Cunha and lead to Wolves looking at potential replacements.

A hunt for a striker is already ongoing at Molineux and that is why contact has been made with the entourage of Castellanos.

Wolves have tried to seek information about the forward from his entourage, who has scored ten times in Serie A this season. The English club are looking to invest a fee of €30m to convince Lazio about a sale in the summer.

Whether a move goes through or not remains to be seen, but many of the links feel speculative.

That isn’t just because Cunha and Castellanos are completely different players, but because of how the rumours were initially planted in a very suggestive manner in the Italian press and have taken off since then.

More than that, too many English clubs have been linked with the 26-year-old despite the player not having impressed too much at Lazio.
