Last week, Wolves emerged as frontrunners to sign Almeria’s Marc Pubill, who has also been of interest to AC Milan.
Marca reported the right-back’s entourage is already in talks over an exit, with the Spanish side looking at €15m to sell Pubill.
It now seems as if Wolves continue to hold an advantage over the Rossoneri and everything comes down to their financial capacity.
Journalist Carlo Pellegatti has spone about the defender on his Youtube channel and explained Vitor Pereira’s side will be able to pay Pubill’s wages more easily than Milan can right now.
He said, as relayed by PianetaMilan:“Wolverhampton are serious; they don’t want to give up. And so Milan’s chances diminish, because Wolverhampton’s salary will certainly be higher.”
Pellegatti also claimed that due to Wolves interest, Milan are considering Strasbourg’s Gela Doue as an alternative.
“At that point, AC Milan will go for Doue, but if Strasbourg don’t lower their price tag from €25/30/35m, the situation becomes complicated. We’ll have to look for other players.”
The 22-year-old has been a regular for his side in the last two seasons and has previously been linked with both Atalanta and AS Roma. This looks a possible transfer for Wolves, with Milan not appearing to be up for a fight.
