Wolverhampton Wanderers may have been given a clear shot at manager Peter Bosz, with VfB Stuttgart turning their attentions elsewhere.

Wolves remain on the hunt for Bruno Lage’s replacement after being turned down by their first-choice candidate Julen Lopetegui.

They had appeared to have decided on QPR’s Michael Beale but reports today have made it clear he has decided to stay with the London club for the time being.

That leaves Wolves looking for alternative options once again and it’s believed Bosz, who has been named as one of the potential candidates, could be at the top of the list.

He was also linked with the vacant position at Stuttgart but Kicker report today that the German club are looking elsewhere.

They explain that their search for a replacement for Pellegrino Matarazzo, who was sacked last week, is now taking shape and according to their information they have now ‘put out feelers’ for Ajax’s Alfred Schreuder.

He’s seen as a smart choice because of his experience working in the Bundesliga with Hoffenheim. They will, though, face a fight to get him out of Ajax where he has a contract until 2024.

It would also be interesting to see if Schreuder would want to swap an attractive job in Amsterdam for the tough task in Stuttgart.

If Stuttgart cannot get Schreuder there is also former Copenhagen coach Jess Thorup, who is believed to be ‘candidate number one’. The second hot lead now seems to be Schreuder.

In other words, Bosz doesn’t appear to be on the list of candidates they are looking at for now, giving Wolves a clear shot to get the Dutchman and finally end the developing saga of finding Lage’s successor.
