Wolverhampton Wanderers have joined Newcastle United and other clubs in the race for CA Talleres’ Ramón Sosa, according to Versus.
Earlier this month, Talleres president Andrés Fassi said the winger will “surely” leave in the summer window and needs $20m [£15.7m] to sanction his sale.
Newcastle have already shown interest and are set to face competition from Wolves for the 24-year-old.
This information is shared by journalist Cristian Martin, who told Versus that Wolves would ‘get into the fight’ to secure Sosa’s services.
On Friday, Sosa’s agent Daniel Campos confirmed that his client dreams of playing in the Premier League, where Chelsea have asked about him. He also stated the player isn’t a priority for the Blues.
According to Martin, Gary O’Neil’s side are ‘one of the possibilities’ for the Paraguay international in the Premier League. In this way, Wolves have entered the battle with the Magpies.
ABC journalist Uriel Iugt, relayed by RDN, says Eddie Howe’s side have sent their officials to watch Sosa. He also added Newcastle seem to have an advantage, if they are keen on securing the South American’s services in the next window.
“Newcastle United are following Sosa closely. Emissaries from the club were observing him in the last Talleres games. No small detail: Sosa shares a representative with Miguel Almirón,” he said.
