On Thursday, we covered claims from Spain on Wolverhampton Wanderers’ desire to sign Girona’s Ladislav Krejčí this summer. It was also stated the Premier League club are willing to match the €30m price.
Later that day, Cadena Ser journalist Nil Solà reported the defender has agreed personal terms with Wolves. He also explained it’ll be impossible for the La Liga club to reject a €30m bid..
Friday’s edition of Marca backs it up and reports Wolves’ offers to the 26-year-old and his club are ‘impossible to refuse’. In other words, this is key for Vítor Pereira’s side to find an agreement for the transfer.
It’s claimed the centre-back will be a Wolves player, and they will pay €30m to secure his services.
Another Spanish newspaper, Mundo Deportivo, have a report titled: ‘Krejčí leaves for Wolves’.
Within the report, it’s explained the Czech Republic international is on his way to Wolves for €30m. It’s further claimed the two clubs have finalised the deal in the ‘last few hours’ and only the official approval is pending.
The Catalan club take on Villarreal on Sunday and the newspaper insists Krejčí won’t be available for selection. They say he’s already played his last game for Girona.
Having paid €8m to buy Krejčí a year ago, Girona will make a profit from his sale. This will ‘immediately ease’ their financial situation but it’ll be a blow from a sporting point of view.
