Back on Thursday, reports from the Brazilian media claimed Wolverhampton Wanderers made an attempt to sign Victor Hugo from Flamengo.
Following the departure of Matheus Nunes, Wolves made a €20m for the young midfielder, and saw their bid getting rejected.
Now as Coluna do Fla features a story on Wolves’ attempt, they show a very good reason why Flamengo are in no hurry to sell.
It’s said that the Molineux side aren’t the first European club who’ve shown interest in Victor Hugo lately.
According to their piece, the likes of Crystal Palace, Newcastle United and Lyon have all made approaches for the signing.
Flamengo have big plans for the player, and are so convinced of keeping him that they have him ready to play against Botafogo on Sunday.
The expectation is that they’ll be able to make more money in a near future, since Victor Hugo has been showing very good potential in his first year in the first team.
Now if Wolves are still going for his signing, they better watch out for the big English competition.
