Fer López hasn’t had a good run since leaving Celta Vigo for Wolverhampton Wanderers in June. The attacking midfielder has failed to score and contributed one assist from 10 matches this season.

On December 2nd, Celta Vigo president Marián Mouriño said the 21-year-old is always welcome to return to the club.

Later that month, their sporting director, Marco Garcés, revealed he’s trying to sign the Wolves player in the winter market.

Friday’s edition of AS explains the Spain U21 international is preparing for his ‘imminent return’ to the La Liga side.

He posted a picture of himself on Instagram with Celta Vigo jersey and used Kanye West’s Homecoming track in the background.

The Spanish press are seeing this as a clear hint of his concrete desire to return to his former club. AS then provide their own take on this case.

Celta Vigo started negotiations several weeks ago to take him away from Wolves. There’s confidence the transfer will go through as the newspaper state it’s ‘practically a done deal’.

The Spanish club and Wolves need to sort out one key aspect of the operation. AS say the two clubs need to agree whether López will join Celta Vigo on loan for six or 18 months. They may resolve it shortly.
