In case Wolverhampton Wanderers are still interested in Borussia Mönchengladbach defender Nico Elvedi, this has been an interesting week for good updates.
Earlier on, we saw journalist Florian Plettenberg claiming the player, who’s open to a summer move, has changed agents and is now represented by Pini Zahavi.
It turns out that the reporter is now back with a new update, and it’s relevant to Wolves’ interest.
Plettenberg claims that next summer, Eveldi will have a release clause worth around €10m. It’s also said that he has ‘enquiries’ from Premier League sides on the table.
Wolves don’t get a mention this time, although it’s well known they were chasing the defender just a few months ago.
The German media claimed that the Molineux side had ‘quite serious discussions’ to sign the player in the summer, but their offer wasn’t good enough to convince Mönchengladbach.
Now it looks like they’ll soon have a golden opportunity to buy him. As the player is valued by Transfermarkt at €14m, that release clause is basically an invitation to go and get the 27-year-old.
