According to Asistanaliz, Besiktas are interested in signing Brentford defender Yoann Barbet, but will face competition from the Premier League.
The player will become a free agent at the end of the month when his contract with Brentford expires, so the choice is solely down to him.
It’s reported Besiktas manager Abdullah Avci wants to sign a left-sided central defender this summer and the Super Lig club have identified the 26 year old as a target. However, Besiktas will be going up against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa in the race for the Frenchman, say Asistanaliz.
Both Aston Villa and Wolves will be looking to add to their squads in this window and it looks like Barbet could be an option for the two West Midlands clubs.
Whilst Besiktas reportedly have other defensive targets, Avci’s first choice is said to be Barbet. It will be hard to fight against the lure of the Premier League.
The defender made 37 appearances for Brentford last season and scored one goal.
