Alieu Njie has shown flashes of talent this season, leading to the Torino youngster being pursued by Wolves and Stoke City.

The 20-year-old has one goal and one assist in the campaign, playing 11 times in Serie A. He made an impact off the bench against Inter Milan at the weekend, helping Il Toro mount an improbable comeback from 2-0 down and get a point from the tie.

The talent has mainly been on the bench, having been used only when the need is ripe in attack.

Attention on the forward is now growing, with Wolves and Stoke City keeping an eye on his progress.

Interest has only grown

La Stampa – relayed by CuoreToro, report that Torino manager Roberto D’Aversa’s usage of the 3-5-2 has somewhat stifled Alieu Njie’s development.

He is a wide forward by nature and doesn’t fit into a traditional 3-5-2 setup. Despite that, he has managed to impress the Italian, also doing well against Cremonese.

This progress has caught the attention of Wolves and Stoke City, who have been monitoring his growth. There is every chance they follow it up with an approach in the summer.

As of now, it seems unlikely the Swede has a future under D’Aversa. That is why Torino will consider his exit, with Njie’s current contract running out in 2029.

Torino are a selling club

Il Toro have historically been known as a selling club in Serie A. In fact, the club’s fans have often publicly protested against this image but it hasn’t impacted how owner Urbano Cairo sees things.

That is why Njie could be on the move if any reasonable offer arrives. The 20-year-old hasn’t been a regular and needs game time.

As Njie is a product of Torino’s youth academy, his sale would grant them a capital gain.
