Last year, Wolves were linked with a move for Lazio goalkeeper Christos Mandas.
There was also talk of interest from Manchester City but the 23-year-old ended up staying at the Rome club.
Things can change for the Greece international. Corriere della Sera today report Wolves are still very interested in signing him in the upcoming summer transfer window.
They are ‘above all’ in the race for the goalkeeper but there is also interest from other English clubs.
The uncertainty about Mandas’ future at Lazio is largely due to the lack of clarity about the Biancocelesti’s first-choice option between the sticks.
The club’s plan last season was to push the Greek as the regular but manager Marco Baroni had other plans. New manager Maurizio Sarri doesn’t see Mandas as someone who is great on the ball and prefers Ivan Provedel as his regular option for the goalkeeping spot.
As a result, Mandas can now head to the Premier League and if Wolves offer a fee of around €30m, they will be able to seal their move quickly, perhaps even for a little less.
